Ports
Conserving terminals 2
-
+
pPositive pin. The source current I flows into p, through the source, and out of n.
-
−
nNegative pin. The current I leaves the source here into the external circuit.
Parameters
-
Current
I1 ACurrent, in amperes. Any real number.
Equations
Modelica
p.i = I p.i + n.i = 0
Implementation

MSL documentation Modelica.Electrical.Analog.Sources.ConstantCurrentAssumptions and limitations
- No voltage limit: the source produces whatever voltage the load requires.
Tips
- The direction follows the Modelica convention: a positive I pushes current out of n. Flip the pins, or the sign of I, if it runs the wrong way.
- Never leave it open or in series with an ideal switch that can open; its voltage is then undefined.
