Description

Outputs zero until Start time, then Height from then on. Use it as a reference change to test a loop’s response.

Example

Signal sources The signal sources side by side: step, ramp, sine, pulse, and clock, plus a constant.

Ports

Outputs 1

  • outy

    Output signal: 0 before Start time, Height after.

Parameters

  • Heightheight1

    The value after the step. Any real number; negative steps down.

  • Start timestartTime0.2 s

    ≥ 0

    Time of the step, in seconds. 0 or more; at 0 the output is Height from the start.

Equations

Modelica
y = 0 for time < startTime
y = height for time ≥ startTime

Implementation

The block’s Modelica model
y = if time < startTime then 0 else height;

Assumptions and limitations

  • The step always starts from 0. For a step between two nonzero levels, add a Constant with Sum.
